"My experience with State Farm: Molly McGillen in New Prague started off well, but unfortunately, it quickly went downhill. The initial setup process was smooth, and they were very helpful. However, I was told I’d be meeting with Molly, but instead, I was given someone else. While this was fine, it should have been communicated up front. The real issues began when I had a question regarding my policy. I was told I needed to come into the office to discuss it. Despite my busy schedule, I made the time and scheduled an appointment, specifically to meet with Molly. When I arrived, I was informed she was unavailable, and again, I was given someone else. This person hadn’t prepared for my visit, didn’t seem to know what I was there for, and didn’t provide any answers to my questions. I couldn’t help but ask why this couldn’t have been handled over the phone, as the appointment felt like a complete waste of my time. Another major issue was with a roof claim after a hailstorm. My neighbors, all insured by different companies, had their roofs replaced quickly—mine, however, was replaced last, nearly two months later. The final straw was a claim for water damage. I’ve had to constantly call my local State Farm office just to get in touch with my adjuster. Each time I speak with him, he tells me he’s “working on it” and is “almost done,” but it’s been three weeks, and there’s still no progress. My contractor can’t begin repairs until he gets the green light from State Farm, and we’re stuck waiting. To make matters worse, my local State Farm office has no issue calling me weekly to push life insurance, but they can’t seem to follow up on whether their adjuster is doing his job. It feels like they couldn’t care less about actually resolving my claim. At this point, I no longer feel comfortable doing business with them. I can’t tolerate such poor communication and lack of follow-through. The only positive I can mention is how easy it was to set up my policy initially, but that alone doesn’t make up for the consistent issues I’ve faced. As a result, I’ll be switching insurance providers. One star."
